Fairy Houses

I have been working on making fairy houses for a couple of months, and I think I am addicted to it. It's lots of fun! It is so much easier than making doll houses because fairys make all their furniture and things, from what they find in the forest. So all the little things I made are from twigs and things I found outside. And a lot of the accessories are from around the house, and in the garage.
My husband made these shelves, and I started by painting and wallpapering the rooms, adding pictures and carpeting as I went along.
Then I started making the furniture. It got to be more and more fun as I went along!!
I glued a lot of beads and sequins, and glass on the tops of the roof facing, too. The little bed i made with sticks, and then a needle felt mattress, with lots of lace and a little crocheted throw. The lamp on the dresser is a bead, the lampshade is a folded piece of paper, glued on
This is the fireplace room.  The fireplace is made out of sculpy clay, and I stuck some small rocks in there and let it air dry. It has a little piece of wood on top for the mantle. And there are some sticks inside to make the fire. The shelves are pieces of wood, the books are made from printed miniature books, that you can get from various websites, you just print the pics of the books, then cut them out. For the pages, I cut out tiny pieces of paper and glued them together, and stuck them inside the book covers.  The chair is made from sticks, and a purple feather.  The carpet I crocheted.
The kitchen was fun to make!! The floor is from a piece of flooring from Home Depot, and I cut little squares and glued them on. The sink is mostly twigs and things. The faucet is a cup hook. The stove is made out of something from the garage, I'm not sure what it was, but i glued staples for the handles. The trash can is a top from a perfume bottle, with little pieces of paper and cotton glued in it.

I love my little living room! The furniture is made from twigs, and the seats are needle felted. the umbrella is a round piece of crocheted thread, with a toothpick for the handle, with a bead glued to the end. Its hard to see the birdcage, but it was made with jewerly wire.
This is the art room, The paintings were done by my Aunt Joyce, I made the harp and the stool.  The thing hanging is supposed to look like a lamp. The door, is a sample piece of flooring, and I glued little brown beads all around it.
The bathroom! Just shells for sink and tub, cup hooks again for faucets. The toilet is pieces of wood. The roll of toilet paper is just a piece of real toilet paper, cut real small and rolled up. The light is a bead. The rugs are cut from a stuffed animal. I found little pieces of mirror at Michaels. The towel is a piece of felt.

This is the master bedroom. The bed is made with sticks, and has a crocheted bedspread, with some embroider on it. There is a little needle felt bear on the bed. The armoire is made with wood, and the hangers are made with jewelry wire.
The dining room table is made from wood. I crocheted the tablecloth and curtains with sewing thread and a very small crochet hook. The chandelier is made with beads. The window is a pic cut out of a magazine, framed with little sticks. I crocheted the rug.
Here are some close up pics.
The wardrobe has some shoes I made with foam, and clay. I made a few clothes for the hangers and a purse made with beads.

This is the harp from the music room.
A pic of a King Charles Spaniel.

The kitchen sink.
The stove, and some of the kitchen. The trash can is the lid off of a perfume bottle.

Kitchen wall is wallpaper
The stove is something I found in the garage, but I'm not sure what it was. I glued some staples onto beads for the door handles. The feet are screws, and some felt cutouts for the burners.

The umbrella is a tiny, crocheted tablecloth glued onto a toothpick, with beads on the ends.

Books from website with printouts of mini books. I glued cutout paper for the pages inside. They look pretty real.
